Premarital counseling is kind of like insurance, divorce insurance. You hope you never need it. You may never have a tough spot in your relationship, but knowing how to handle it can make a world of difference. Research in the last couple of decades has shown that couples who get the information and help when they don't need it, fare better than those who don't. It is important to do the work when you have the energy of love. And it doesn't take much information. In four to six private couple sessions I can support you in learning the skills and information you need, or you can learn all you need in a 8-hour class.
My name is Michelle Bohls and I am marriage counselor. Call me to talk more about what option might work best for you. I cover communication skills, conflict management skills, repairing rifts, decision making such as decisions about money, chores, sex, and roles. A Waiver for the $60 marriage license fee is available for couples taking a premarital class.
The premarital class is $350 per couple with discounts for early registration.
For individual sessions with premarital clients I charge $100 an hour with a two hour minimum for our first session or $130 for 50 minutes.
